How to Install Snap on Debian a Universal App Store

Snapcraft or Snap is a universal app store for Linux and deliver and update your app on any Linux distribution for desktop, cloud, and Internet of Things.

Snaps are transforming the way install and update apps, working across many distributions and versions of Linux

Snaps are bundling dependencies and config, and simplifying installs to a single standard command.

On Debian 9 (Stretch), you can install directly from the command line:

sudo apt update
sudo apt install snapd

If the sudo command isn’t installed (usually because a root password was
provided at install time), you can install snap by first switching to
the root account:

su root
apt update
apt install snapd

Snap is currently unavailable on versions of Debian prior to 9.
